i cant believe i'm saying this, but... NDP 08's the bomb man!!! whooo! hahha. went with brudder yesterday. really fun jostling the crowd and fighting with the aunties for bread. it was like nostalgia all over. i mean. i've been to ndp before. but that was a long long time ago. before it got famous for the free goodie bag and all. now you've gotta fight for tickets. which is total crap. since people go there just the get the free stuff.
but it's about the atmosphere! i mean. we're singaporeans man! a whole gathering of the different races!! infront of us were a family of indians, beside us, punjabis.a few seats behind, caucasians. hahha. how cool is that?
ohhh. we had like super loads of fun. kept making weird noises to distract people. like the indian kiddos in front of us. hahhah. they kept staring at us whenever we like screamed. ehhhhh. the commentator told us to okay. was it our fault if no one else did? tsk tsk tsk. but we were fooling. so yeah. hopefully no one got pissed. all in the mood for national day!! can you say patriotic? hahahah.
ohhh. and they tried doing the marina wave. jeezz! and we were supposed to stand withe the flag. me trying to be different, whipped out the programme booklet and used the back cover (purple) to wave so that we might be "seenable" on the screen. too bad. we were too tiny. hahahhaha. not much err. difference to the whole thingy. cheyyyyyy.
then! there was the saf band performing. some guy playing the trumpet bent his head too fast down, his hat flew off!!! hahahhahah. or baret or whatever. hahaha. hilarious. the person behind us was like "ehhhh!! ta mau zi tiao!" damn loudly man. all who didnt see before that obviously turned and watched how he retrieved it. while the other people were marching towards the left, he marched forwards! picked his cap up! and continued as tho nothing has happened! totally in style man!
the other performances were kinda boring. until they sang this years NDP song. shine singapore star or whatever. hahahaha. no idea. they didnt give like a song sheet!!! like hello?!! that's like important much? i guess they expected us to like read from the screen. but who does that? tsk tsk tsk. it was like hardy mirza and joi chua who sang it. it's nice. hahah. that was kinda like the climax. or at least i thought it was. until!!!! the fireworks came out! it was.... fascinating. hahhaha. really. i mean. it's one thing to watch it on tv. and another to experience it first hand!! missing it when you're looking at another direction, the singapore flyer for instance. and inhaling the smoke that comes with it. hahahha. it was super fun laaaaa! really. ahahha.
