i've never really talked about how the biking community looks after each other have i? compared to the driving community that is. i mean. how many people would willingly stop and help a fellow driver in need? everyone only slows down to get a glimpse of the car number, and the parties involved. haha.
but you know what? i've encountered so many incidents where people have helped me. maybe it's cos i'm a chick. but whatever. i refuse to believe that's a valid reason. because if that is, then urh. good for me? hahahah.
but i digress! what i meant to say was. woah! all these bikers. they talk to me! guys dont just walk up and talk to me see. i dno why. DO I LOOK THAT INTIMIDATING? garrh tsk. but bikers, they'll happily talk to me. this one confirm cos i'm a chick. hahaha. they start conversations like "oh! you ride a bike!" and "isnt it too big for you?" and i'll be like. "huh? oh.. haha. sorry" and proceed to take off my ear piece which were plugged into my ear, then the helmet goes over, so i can hear ALL THAT JAZZ while riding. and then i'll be like "you were saying?" and they repeat it, and conversation just flows so smoothly! like we're meant to be together or smth! but that cant happen of course... because they're probably 30 and above. which is actually quite okay come to think of it. HAHAHA.
anw! that's not all. when i parked at np, i had like part time students, adults, talking to me, and that makes my day. one time, i was at changi airport trying to park dylan, and i lost the grip and it started leaning towards the side, this malay uncle, who just got onto his bike, promptly got off and ran towards me to offer assistance. then the other time i got into an accident, this dude who was driving behind me stopped, and he helped me gather my stuff and all, and he talked to me, and offered me a cigarette (apparently to calm me down .-_-) and said he was a rider so he knew how i felt. then countless occasions when uncles helped me push dylan backwards, out of places with a step up, but i'm too weak to bring it out myself. DAMMIT MAN. or i was too sick to bring it down from main stand. that was embarrassing. hur hur.
but i was really sick and it was on a slope up from the centre to front wheel. and to push the bike off main stand, you'll have to bring it back then use the momentum to bring it forward and so it can come off the main stand. but because of the slope up, i couldnt bring it forward enough for it to come down and was struggling until this dude from the fruit stall nearby helped me. awww. so sweet of him. he even pushed dylan until it faced the road so i could just ride off without having to push it myself.
so then ytd, i parked on the pavement where there were bikes ard me, but not covering me. but when i got back WHUTTT?! there were bikes everywhere! and i had no idea how i was supposed to get out. so i figured the easiest was to push it backwards, where only a bike (honda kup) and lamp post was blocking me. (there was a grp of people there just sitting on bikes and chatting) and when i started moving dylan, one of them immediately helped me shift the honda kup out of the way! then seeing that i was kinda still kinda struggling to fit dylan's huge ass through thegap with the lamp post and the other bikes ard, another one of them came and held onto dylan's ass (involuntarily molesting dylan. hello that was some serious homo action going on down there. haha.) and they helped me maneuver dylan out! HEE HEE. so nice of them. must've thanked them like... 3 times. (yes, i counted.) and they just smiled. and walked back to their grp of people. hahaha.
so nice right? i think so too. they dont even expect us to do anything in return. THIS. is what i'll call, bikers' etiquette. like that other time when i forgot to take my cashcard outta my IU, and i couldnt find it after going back to dylan. thought someone had stolen it, but when i got home and opened the compartment under the seat, something dropped in and VIOLA! my cashcard! i'm guessing one of them uncles saw my cashcard, took it out, and shoved it under my seat, so hard it didnt fall off and then only when i opened the compartment did it get unstuck, and yeahhhh.
i am so bloody heartened by bikers. bikers' etiquette ftw yo.
